Kaju Varo

The larger and more commonly used one for yoga retreats is called Kaju Varo. Though still a secret on the global yoga circuit, retreats held here have been rated in the top 20 yoga holiday destinations world wide by the Guardian, uk, for example.

Kaju Varo is located a short 3 minute walk from Ashwem , north Goa’s best beach, on a sacred spirtual energy passage as per local shamanic lore.

It is very private, silent and nature empowered. An oasis of green with its own micro climate created by our tree planting. Temperatures on the property are several degrees below even close neighbours and the air quality is perceptibly superior.

Unlike bang-on-the-beach-properties privacy and silence are of a very high standard.

Accommodation

The shunya chi architectural style is minimalist and natural material oriented. Water bodies abound and a variety of tropical birds brighten up morning tea with their colours and singing.

Kaju Varo can host from 20 to 25 participants depending on the degree of privacy required in 10 bedrooms and 5 lounges which can take extra beds. The layout follows a luxury suite pattern.

Each retreat organiser is free to play with the options on offer to suit personal needs. We appreciate being given sleeping details prior to arrival if possible. Please note that this is not a resort hotel with identical rooms. It’s an original retreat property and most suites are unique.

Services and Team

Kaju Varo staff have more than a decades experience in hosting international yoga groups and teachers.

Teachers can even rely on our staff to help structure a daily schedule without retreat organisers or retreat chefs. Of course this must be stated in advance so we can activate the necessary personnel.

Likewise retreat organisers can only bring groups and pick a teacher/ multiple teachers from our eminent panel of masters.

For much of the year there is also an excellent selection of shunya chi recommended doctors, dieticians and other therapists to symbiotically relate to your retreat by prior appointment if desired. We will start to upload brief sketches of these individuals on our website shortly.

Food

We provide 3 gourmet vegetarian meals and other snacks and refreshments for all retreats. The relationship between food, health and happiness is central to our ideology . This is an area where our skills are constantly evolving .

Already our vegetarian, vegan and satvic food are internationally acclaimed. More importantly they are based on low carbon footprint local organic produce – often grown on our own properties – and make you feel better instantly.

Yoga Shala

Kaju Varo has a split level shala surrounded by water bodies. It has a 360 degree open air nature view. Yoga sessions are conducted to birdsong and the sound of cascading water.

Standard mats and props are provided for free .

Yoga sessions can also happen on our very tranquil stretch of beach only 3 minutes from the property ( The high tide line is 400 m from the proprty and wave song is heard in the garden.)
